I have been growing tired of my current glasses (check them out in a previous post). Now that I’m not really wearing contact lenses anymore, I desperately needed a new pair of glasses – just to alternate, and change things up. In comes MyOptique, featuring quite a few amazing retro glasses, and you know I am a sucker for retro/vintage style.
I was sent the beautiful pair I’m wearing in the photos, the Eliza by London Retro. I couldn’t be happier with them. I’ve been wanting a pair of cat eye glasses, and these are absolutely perfect. They are comfortable, and look great on my face shape (which can be hard!). They are really sturdy, and came in a beautiful brown case. You can bet that you will be seeing these beauties in many, many future posts to come. These have become my daily glasses, with my old ones as my back ups.

The humidity here has been insane – hence the weird blurriness on a few of my pictures. It’s really effecting my camera lens, which is making me sad. Sorry about that! There may be major, major changes happening soon. I can’t say yet, as everything is still in discussion, but I will share soon. It’s all very nerve wracking and exciting! Such is life!

It has been raining for just about two weeks straight now. Granted, yesterday we dealt with Tropical Storm Andrea, I’d really love for the weather to just chill for a little bit. I don’t mind the rain overall, but when it’s constant, it really effects my mood.
Life has been pretty action packed lately. I’ve recently started these awesome new fitness challenges, and I’m really enjoying them. Last month was squats (though I did carry it onto this month because I’m loving the results), and this month is abs. So far, so good! The hubby & I may be joining a gym soon – though I’m not excited about this (the whole gym thing is not my thing at all – I’d rather do laps around my neighborhood), it’s a good thing.

I’m also trying out RocksBox (c/o iFabbo). I’m on my second box, and I am much more impressed this time around. My first box I really did not like at all. This box, I absolutely love two out of the three items – now I’m just tossing around the idea of purchasing them! It’s a pretty neat program. You get one box at a time with 3 items in it, which of course is based off of a style quiz you take. You can return the jewelry by the date (free shipping all included), or you have the chance to purchase any of the items from your box. Can you guess that one of my favorite trends right now is black and white? It’s so classic and yet so incredibly versatile. You can wear it so many different ways, with almost every color. My wardrobe is already filled with tons of black clothes thanks to working and theater, but pairing white up with the black is such a delicious combination, seeing it makes me want more. Versatility is definitely something I am starting to strive for more and more as I shop lately.

There’s something about a belted a-line dress that just makes me feel so ladylike. I think it’s the image that most people think of when they think “lady in a dress”. This dress sort of reminds me of the scene from Little Shop of Horrors when Audrey is singing “Somewhere that’s Green” – very 1950’s housewife, you know? Now I will spend the rest of my day singing that song…sigh..

The color blocking and style of this tunic from Gwynnie Bee really reminded me of the mod styling during the 1960’s. I had to recreate a more modern look out of such a cool style, and this is what I came up with. I love it. I wanted to change my name to something minxy to go along with my modern day retro vibe.
