Last week Scott and I headed out and got our very first Christmas tree. I’m really excited, because we got a cute little one, but it’s real. You know, with that absolutely glorious pine scent? One of my favorite smells of all time. The tree is all decorated with cute little bells, ornaments, a gingerbread man, a mushroom, and that red bead garland. Let me tell you a little story about that garland. While holding it in Target, I suddenly felt like a 5 year old girl again, bubbling with excitement. I used to ransack the boxes of decorations looking for it, and exclaim, “Dad, dad!! Can I please put the cranberries on the tree??” That pretty red wood beaded garland was cranberries to me, and was my favorite part. I felt it made the tree look complete, and beautiful. They are still cranberries to me…and you can bet they are on my little tree.
